WHAT IS COMIC PRESSING?

What Is Comic Pressing?

Comic pressing is the process of removing minor defects from comic books through the careful use of heat, pressure, and humidity. It’s a completely safe, non-restorative technique that improves the appearance of your comics — and can often lead to a higher grade when submitted to CGC or CBCS.

What Can Be Fixed With Pressing?
  • Pressing is effective on a wide range of common issues, including:

  • Spine rolls

  • Bends and creases

  • Rippling or waviness from moisture

  • Surface dents and indentations

  • Non-color-breaking spine stress lines

  • Note: Pressing cannot fix every issue — color-breaking creases, tears, or missing pieces, for example, will remain unaffected.
